Japanese Drawings

I can't really trace back the name of the creator of these great drawings, but they must be somewhere over here. For Villa Zebra, a museum specifically for children aged 4 - 12, I was asked to make a virtual version, in such a way that it can operate autonomously next to their workshops and exhibitions throughout the Netherlands.
In extensive research for what this virtuality could mean I stumbled upon these drawings where so many layers, paths, worlds are combined that it really goes beyond the first association of virtuality as copy of 'real' space.
